Brookhill Pond site, Buckley

The project was to fund the complete restoration of one pond on the important Brookhill Pond site.

A site of twenty ponds was created as mitigation to replace the surface water area of the adjacent former Brookhill Clay Hole when it was found to have been colonised by an important colony of Great crested newts prior to its preparation for landfill.

The sites is included in the Deeside and Buckley Newt Sites Special Area of Conservation (SAC).
