After working in the waste industry for 21 years managing conservation and ecology for a large private company, she has worked as an independent ecological consultant since 2013. Sarah specialises in the conservation of the Great crested newt in relation to development.
She enjoys successfully delivering challenging projects where there is a need to balance ecology and development and has undertaken research into the effects of mitigation on the behaviour of the Great crested newt.
Sarah was also a trustee for a number of years of the Deeside Urban Wildlife Group which later became North east Wales Wildlife, a charity that focused on amphibian conservation. She lives near Mold and enjoys managing her own traditional species-rich hay meadow.
